Volunteering at Bloxham
Give a little time. Make a big difference. Be part of something special.
At Bloxham CE Primary School, we believe that some of the most valuable contributions to children's education come from the people who generously share their time, talents and enthusiasm.
Our volunteers are a much-valued part of our school community. Whether it's a parent accompanying a class on a trip, a grandparent listening to children read, someone sharing their love of sport or a member of our church community bringing Bible stories to life, every contribution helps make the Bloxham experience even richer.
Volunteering is also a wonderful way to become more involved in school life, meet new people, build friendships and experience some of those special moments that make primary school such an exciting place to be.
You don't have to be a teacher or have specialist qualifications to make a difference. Sometimes, all it takes is a little time, a friendly smile and a willingness to help.
When you volunteer at Bloxham, you're not simply helping our school — you're becoming part of it.
There Are So Many Ways to Get Involved
One of the wonderful things about volunteering at Bloxham is that opportunities come in all shapes and sizes.
Some of our volunteers join us every week, becoming familiar, friendly faces whom children look forward to seeing. Others lend a hand for a particular event, visit or activity.
Our volunteers don't just support what we already do. They help us offer even more opportunities for children to discover new interests, develop confidence and enjoy school life.
There are lots of ways to get involved:
-
Bringing stories to life – listening to children read, encouraging their confidence and helping them discover the joy of books.
-
Supporting learning in classrooms – sharing time, skills and encouragement alongside our teaching teams.
-
Bringing our curriculum to life – sharing your personal expertise, professional knowledge, life experiences or special interests linked to one of our curriculum topics. Whether it's talking about a fascinating career, sharing memories of the past, demonstrating a practical skill or introducing children to a different culture or place, our volunteers help make learning real, relevant and memorable. Sometimes, hearing from someone with first-hand experience can spark a curiosity or ambition that stays with a child for years to come.
-
Running lunchtime clubs – we already have volunteers who generously give their time each week to lead a regular lunchtime club, introducing children to new interests and adding even more variety to their school day.
-
Sharing a love of sport – supporting sporting activities, competitions and events, encouraging teamwork, participation and a love of being active.
-
Exploring the great outdoors – helping with Forest School and outdoor learning, where children develop practical skills, confidence, curiosity and a connection with nature.
-
Joining us beyond the school gates – accompanying educational visits, supporting swimming sessions or walking with classes through the village to St Mary's Church.
-
Sharing faith and stories – helping to lead our Open the Book collective worship sessions, bringing Bible stories to life.
