Bloxham CE Pupils Take a Stand for Global Justice
Pupils at Bloxham CE Primary School have been learning about the vital work of Christian Aid this week, with a focus on how the charity supports communities around the world affected by climate change, poverty, and injustice.
The school’s Collective Worship theme, “Injustice and how we can be courageous advocates,” helped children explore complex global issues such as access to clean water and the impact of inequality. The aim was not only to inform but also to inspire pupils to take meaningful action.
And take action they did—through a fun and purposeful Copper Trail Challenge! Each class collected copper coins throughout the week, competing to create the longest possible trail. The initiative proved hugely popular, with children eagerly hunting for spare change in sofa cushions, coat pockets, and piggy banks at home.
Congratulations go to Class 3K, whose trail was the longest of all—a testament to their teamwork and enthusiasm. While raising funds was part of the initiative, the school’s focus remained on the importance of participation and awareness, rather than the amount raised.
Deputy Headteacher Mr Singleton commented: “We are so proud of how our children have engaged with such important global issues. Activities like the Copper Trail Challenge show how small actions can add up to make a real difference.”
All funds raised will be donated to Christian Aid, supporting their work in some of the world’s most vulnerable communities.
