GDPR

How We Manage and Protect Your Information

At Bloxham CE Primary School, we are required by law to hold certain information about pupils and their families. This includes records such as pupil admissions, attendance, assessments, safeguarding details, special educational needs information, and relevant medical or welfare data. These form part of each child’s educational record and must be retained for specified periods, even after a pupil has left the school. This ensures we meet our statutory duties in areas including education, health, safety, and child protection.

While we must retain information required by law, families have rights under the UK GDPR to request that data which is inaccurate, incomplete, or no longer needed is corrected or deleted. Parents may also withdraw consent for any data we hold purely on the basis of permission — for example, photographs used in newsletters, displays, or on the school website.

In some cases, limited personal data is shared securely with trusted third-party partners who support school operations — such as Colour Box Photography (school photographers), Fresh Start Catering, and SchoolMoney (online payments). Each organisation has its own privacy policy, which you can access below:

If you believe your data may be held by a third party in connection with the school and cannot locate their privacy policy, please contact the school office for assistance.

For details of school-specific privacy notices, or if you wish to update or discuss any personal information we hold about you or your child, please contact our Data Protection Lead at  dpo@bloxham-pri.oxon.sch.uk.
