Number Day Fun at Bloxham CE Primary!

Pupils and staff at Bloxham CE Primary came together on Friday 6th February to take part in the NSPCC’s national Number Day — a fun and meaningful event designed to celebrate maths while raising awareness of the vital work of the NSPCC.

Children arrived at school in a fantastic array of number-themed non-uniform outfits. From football shirts displaying favourite players’ numbers to creatively decorated t-shirts and colourful patterns and shapes, the day reflected both imagination and enthusiasm. We were especially impressed by some wonderfully inventive homemade costumes, including a brilliant life-sized calculator and a magical “number witch”, which brought plenty of smiles across the school.

Throughout the day, classes immersed themselves in a variety of number-based activities designed to build confidence and enjoyment in maths. Pupils took part in exciting KS1 and KS2 number scavenger hunts around the school, encouraging teamwork, problem-solving and active learning. KBVs were awarded for completing the scavenger hunts, adding an extra layer of motivation and celebration across the school community.

Some children also joined the national “NSPCC Rocks” Times Tables Rock Stars tournament, with many classes tuning into the live assembly while practising their times tables. The event provided a wonderful opportunity for pupils to strengthen their mathematical fluency in a lively and interactive way.

Number Day was a brilliant example of our school values in action — encouraging creativity, ambition and inclusion while bringing our community together for a positive cause. We are incredibly proud of the enthusiasm shown by our pupils and grateful to families for their continued support in making the day such a success.
