Bloxham CE Primary Celebrates Caring Values Day in Support of Children in Need
Bloxham CE Primary School came together last Friday for a special Values Day, dedicated to the school value of Caring. Each term, the school focuses a day on one of its core values, and this term’s spotlight on Caring provided an ideal opportunity for pupils to explore what kindness, empathy, and compassion look like in action. Linking the day with this year’s Children in Need appeal made the experience even more powerful.
The school embraced a vibrant ‘Dress to Express’ non-uniform theme, encouraging children to wear outfits that best reflected who they are. Pupils arrived in an array of creative choices—from football kits and pyjamas to bold colours, favourite characters, and costumes inspired by future ambitions. This celebration of individuality supported the school’s commitment to nurturing self-worth and belonging.
Non-uniform donations and a cake sale, generously supplied by families, helped raise £655 for Children in Need. The school’s House Captains led the effort, running the cake stands on behalf of Archimedes, Keller, Kahlo, and Brunel. Their teamwork and enthusiasm demonstrated the value of caring through service and community involvement.
Across classrooms, pupils took part in activities designed to deepen their understanding of the term’s focus value. Stories, discussions, and creative tasks helped children reflect on how even small acts of kindness can make a meaningful difference to those around them.
Staff praised pupils for embodying the school’s values—especially Caring—throughout the day. The event not only raised vital funds for a national cause but also reinforced the school’s ongoing commitment to helping children live out its values in practical, thoughtful ways.
The Caring Values Day created a meaningful and memorable experience for pupils, bringing the whole school together to reflect on how they can support and uplift others both in and beyond the classroom.
